Holds the key to her future, is that the key to truth? wongmlk@hotmail.com Shall take ourselves to a level higher. Just because we can. We shall always be happy and do whatever we want so that we would leave this world with no regrets. This is our life to live and we should answer to no one else but ourselves. We owe our lives to no one. To speak about freedom, but not being sure if we can achieve that. But we try. I never mentioned how we should all take risks, but only calculated ones. Never do something that your conscience can't live by, you don't want to face sleepless nights. The pursuit of happiness might not be with anyone else. The pursuit of happiness can be attained by walking the road alone. There are reasons why you remain alone, but many don't understand why you choose to be alone - they can't see why you're perfectly lonely. Archives

Injustice witnessed Injustice witnessed shall I theme this post as. The following shall spell everything clearly : To: Principals, Vice Principals and Authorities In Charge Hi, I am a student from Chung Cheng High School (Main), Wong Min Li Kristine(22) from Class 4 Justice. This is of great concern, or else I would have not decided to spend my precious time writing this as in Secondary 4, time is precious. Therefore, I would like to have a say in some of the unreasonable demands the Discipline Master, Mr Chua, has gotten other students, my two friends and me to oblige. This morning, 04 March 2008, approximately at 7.20a.m, my friends and I were forced to throw away an uneaten bowl of noodles each into the rubbish bin. I would like to tell in details the whole situation that had taken place. Flag raising was cancelled this morning due to a slight drizzle. As usual, my friends and I went to the canteen to patronize the only noodle store that was open for businiess. Just as we had ordered our noodles, Mr Chua walked into the canteen and hollered at the body of students there who were having their breakfast. He shouted and demanded all of the students to stop eating and then dispose their cutlery into the bin provided. I was baffled. My friends and I had just settled our uneaten bowl of noodles onto the table, not even the chopsticks were soiled and yet we could only throw it into the bin. Three of us were reluctant, so was the lady that tended the store. She kindly offered to packet our noodles for us to bring it back to class, but to no avail, Mr Chua questioned us why were we packeting our food and shouted that there should be no food consumed outside the canteen. We felt helpless, gathered our things and then were directed to the bin to dispose our uneaten food. I am very disappointed and puzzled with these unbelievable actions done by the DM. Also, I think that all of the students there had the right to oppose to what he did. Firstly, there was no rule that stated breakfast was not to be consumed early in the morning in the school canteen. If there had been a rule like that imposed, I am sure the stall holder wouldn't even be operating the stall that early as not even a single student would be patronising it. Also, for years I have been consuming my breakfast in this way, if there had been the rule, I would have had willingly obliged to it. Furthermore, if the reason was that we had to be in class when the bell rang at 7.30a.m, whereas lessons start at 7.45a.m, then why was the backgate still open for students to enter till 7.45a.m? If that is so, what is the difference in being in class by 7.45a.m while I spent my time having breakfast in the canteen, compared to arriving in school on time and reaching class just before 7.45a.m? The worst of all was that Mr Chua had demanded us to throw our uneaten noodles into the bin. He could have just given us a warning that this rule would be implemented from tomorrow onwards and let us quickly finish up our food. I am most upset about this matter. I cannot believe that he is an educator in the subject Geography. Hasn't Geography shown him enough famines and starvation that killed millions around the world? If it has, then throwing away three full bowls of noodles would just greatly help in this matter, I am sure. Let's not take into consideration that I am only from a low-middle class income family and that $1.50 of money spent on wasting food just doesn't help my family's financial concerns. I am appalled that no consideration was put forth for the food that had become wastage and the hungry students whom have to endure till recess. Moreover, packeting our food was just to keep it from wastage. We would have consumed it at the concourse or canteen, not in the classes where it was forbidden. But we didn't even have the chance to explain and ask for time to finish our food. I know that I am neither a member of the public nor a parent and that my letter would mean nothing as it would never tarnish the school's reputation, I still hope the school will look into this matter. Despite an urge for demanding a refund on the wasted money and food, I am more keen on seeking for a good explaination the school has to give for these actions. Also, I wouldn't want to be convinced that the school acts blindly and the mass of staff only take sides with the their own, whereby students have none to say. Also, that the school will not use authority to oppress us students as we do in fact have a say in this school, if not, we would all just turn into puppets to be manipulated. Thank you. Yours sincerely, Wong Min Li Kristine (22) Class 4 Justice |
